About The Position

The WIN Television Network is seeking an experienced journalist for its WIN News service, based in Traralgon. This role involves researching, compiling, and producing high-quality news stories for weekday news bulletins. The journalist will liaise with editors and camera operators to ensure bulletins meet deadlines and maintain high standards. Working in a regional newsroom offers the opportunity to take ownership of the market and report on various topics, including the environment, sport, and politics, with the ability to make a difference within the community.

Requirements

A university qualification in journalism.
At least one year of experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated understanding of how to compile a ratings winning bulletin.
Knowledge of local, national and international news stories affecting the community.
Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of media law.
Accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
Ability to meet deadlines through effective time management.
Capacity to operate in a team environment, contributing positively to working relationships.
Ability to identify story opportunities.
Ability to operate with initiative and flexibility.
Positive work ethic.
Ability and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
Valid Australian working rights.
