About The Position

As a Technical Writer at Booz Allen, you will support senior editors and subject matter experts by performing essential document preparation tasks—editing basic errors, applying formatting standards, reviewing content for clarity, and ensuring alignment with approved terminology. You will help maintain consistency across Joint Doctrine publications, terminology products, and related Joint Staff knowledge tools. Requirements

  • Experience editing or formatting professional documents
  • Experience using document formatting features in Microsoft Word, Adobe, CorelDraw, and Photoshop
  • Experience editing documents according to set standards for order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
  • Knowledge of Joint or Service doctrine development and publishing processes
  • Ability to follow established editorial rules, workflows, and production timelines
  • Secret clearance
  • Associate's degree or 2+ years of experience with editing in lieu of a degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience editing or formatting professional documents, including academic, technical, policy based, or military related preferred
  • Experience with joint or Service doctrine development and publishing processes
  • Experience with editorial workflows or coordination activities in technical or policy environments
  • Experience supporting document reviews, matrices, or structured comment processes
  • Experience preparing graphics, tables, or structured content supporting publication needs
  • Knowledge of terminology management or structured content rules within DoD or federal programs

Responsibilities
