About The Position

The Jockey Driver operates gasoline- and diesel-powered Jockey/Stake body trucks to move materials. The role includes moving and delivering trailers for plants at the Reading facility, facilitating weighing and logging of moves, securing loads at RDC, and making local deliveries and moves. The driver also operates other mobile equipment and performs metal handler duties as required. The position requires routine vehicle and equipment checks, maintaining tools and equipment, and keeping the work area orderly. This role is for the 3rd shift, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Requirements

Must be able to operate mobile equipment, including but not limited to forklifts and cranes.
Ability to organize material on machines as scheduled.
Must be able to work mandatory overtime as needed.
Must be able to work multiple shifts as needed.
Ability to read micrometers, calipers, and other measurement devices.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Basic computer skills.
Walking or standing for 80% of the shift; walking, bending, climbing, lifting, pulling, and pushing are required; lifting up to 55 pounds.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma preferred, but not required.
Manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Receive instructions from the supervisor.
Complete the daily driver checklist for trucks used.
Check fuel, oil, water, and other vehicle fluids; test steering, motor, and brakes for proper operation; and notify the supervisor if repairs are needed.
Move trailers for all plants on the Reading facility.
Deliver trailers and facilitate weighing and logging of moves.
Perform metal handler classification duties as required.
Strap down and secure loads at RDC.
Make local deliveries and moves as needed.
Operate a lift truck, wheeled loader, and bobcat.
Keep tools and equipment clean, properly stored, and in good working order.
Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
