About The Position

La Rabida Children’s Hospital is hosting a Mass Interview Event for various healthcare positions, including Registered Nurses (Inpatient and Outpatient), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Respiratory Therapists (RTs), and Environmental Services Specialists (EVS). This event offers the opportunity for on-site interviews with leaders and potential same-day hiring decisions for qualified candidates. New graduates are welcome, and preferred experience is around 4 years. Requirements

  • FOR REGISTERED NURSES: Bachelor’s degree in nursing required
  • FOR REGISTERED NURSES: CPR required. Only certifications issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross will be accepted
  • FOR CNAs: High School Diploma or equivalency (GED)
  • FOR CNAs: CPR required. Only certifications issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross will be accepted.
  • FOR RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS: Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved program of Respiratory Care education
  • FOR RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS: CRT required
  • FOR RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • FOR RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Preferred
  • FOR RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS: Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulation (IDPFR) Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) required
  • FOR RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS: Pediatrics experience required
  • FOR RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS: Good verbal communication skills
  • FOR RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS: CPR required; Only certifications issued by the American Heart Association will be accepted
  • FOR EVS: Required to read, write, and speak English

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: ~4 years of experience
  • FOR REGISTERED NURSES: Pediatric, PICU & NICU experience preferred
  • FOR REGISTERED NURSES: Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Illinois
  • FOR REGISTERED NURSES: Growth and Development, Family Centered Philosophy
  • FOR CNAs: Related childcare experience preferred
  • FOR CNAs: Nursing Assistant Illinois Certificate required.
  • FOR RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS: Familiarity with the concepts and performance of invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation management, inhaled medication administration, airway clearance administration, blood gas analysis, noninvasive monitoring, tracheostomy tube and tie exchange, etc. in a pediatric setting
  • FOR RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS: RRT preferred
  • FOR RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred, but must obtain prior or within 6 months of employment
  • FOR EVS: High school diploma or G.E.D preferred
  • FOR EVS: Prefer two to three years experience in health care environmental service / linen work
