About The Position

The Job Developer provides aspirational job development and placement services as part of the Job Path/ Project SEARCH Team. Identifies interns’ strengths, interests, and abilities related to career counseling, job development, and placement at the Project SEARCH host business or a community employer. Assists team in determining what supports and/or adaptations may be needed for training and successful employment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for obtaining Job Coach Certification and maintaining the credential through continuing education hours
  • Responsible for obtaining education hours required by Friendship Community Care and any other regulatory bodies
  • Accurately document work hours on timecard and ensure all hours worked outside of the set schedule are approved by supervisor first
  • Responsible for the oversight of the job seeker/intern they are assigned to and ensures that their health and safety come first
  • Serves as an advocate for all interns
  • May be required to drive own vehicle or company vehicle assist job seeker in getting to and from location.
  • Attends Employment Planning Meetings with the intern and all team members to learn the intern's career interests, specific job preferences, skills, and abilities for an individualized employment plan.
  • Develops Individual Employment Plan for each intern and implement specific vocational components of the plan, including job search, training, and the development of specific goals, objectives, and activities for a successful transition to work.
  • Provides outreach to community business and associations to develop linkages and a network of employers that offer job opportunities for interns.
  • Coordinates and provides job placement, training/coaching activities, travel training (if available and needed) accommodations, and necessary job supports for interns.
  • When an intern or graduate achieves employment, provide information for data entry in the PS member portal to the appropriate team member.
  • Required to keep a professional demeanor as a representative of FCC/Project Search
  • Carries First Aid supplies for minor injuries and transports employees/clients with major injuries for appropriate medical attention.
  • Completes written report of any job injuries
  • Completes Task Analysis as needed for clients served.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information received regarding Friendship Community Care, Inc., and the participants. Conditions of confidentiality shall be in compliance with Friendship Community Care Non-Disclosure Policy and HIPAA Policies.
  • Adheres to and complies with all Quality Assurance’s & HIPAA procedures.
  • Follows The Code of Conduct and Compliance Investigation Procedures as read and discussed in the new employee training.
  • Maintains Consumers’ progress notes daily or as needed on the prescribed forms.
  • Maintains Consumers’ records weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
  • Files all information in consumers’ records as needed and updated as prescribed by funding sources.
