About The Position

The Job Developer supports youth workforce development programming by cultivating meaningful worksite placements and ensuring high-quality employment experiences for participants enrolled in our youth employment programs. The Job Developer works closely with program staff, youth participants, and community employers to support successful placements, compliance, and skill-building outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years within the last five (5) years of experience providing youth development or workforce development services to youth.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated confidence and experience presenting to a range of business partners and industry stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain detailed records, complete documentation accurately, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Bachelor's degree in education, social work, youth studies, or related fields required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, or Arabic a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the enrollment of program participants by assisting with outreach, application collection, eligibility verification, document review, and follow-up to ensure timely and complete enrollment.
  • Co-Facilitate weekly work-readiness workshops to prepare participants for their internships.
  • Develop and secure challenging, meaningful worksites aligned with participants’ vocational interests in fields such as media, healthcare, information technology, retail, education, and real estate.
  • Review worksite agreements and related documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to program start.
  • Ensure all worksite folders are complete, maintained, and compliant with DYCD requirements, including pre-assessments, assessments, licenses, trip schedules, applications, and assurances.
  • Conduct worksite pre-assessments.
  • Assist with coordinating participant and worksite orientations, job fairs, and placements.
  • Enter and maintain accurate program data in DYCD’s online database on a weekly basis.
  • Organize, review, and log participant timesheets in appropriate rosters for tracking and payroll purposes.
  • Prepare back-pay requests and submit them to the Program Director for approval.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with worksites and provide support to promote positive outcomes.
  • Keep the Program Director informed of all participant and worksite updates to support accurate recordkeeping.
  • Assist with the preparation and facilitation of participant debit card and ID card distribution.
  • Support additional program activities as assigned by the Program Director.
