About The Position

Career Path Services is seeking a Job Developer to join our Human Services team. In this role, you’ll work at the intersection of people and business, partnering with job seekers to understand their goals while building strong relationships with employers and community partners to create pathways to employment. The Job Developer delivers personalized employment services that help individuals gain confidence, develop job readiness skills, and secure opportunities that support long-term success. This position supports a range of programs, including WorkFirst and other TANF-aligned services, with a focus on career coaching, employer engagement, job placement, retention support, and helping customers navigate barriers to employment. People who thrive in this role are natural connectors who enjoy building trust, creating opportunities, and helping others reach their goals. They bring strong interpersonal and case management skills, but are equally energized by the outreach side of the work, proactively engaging employers, making introductions, cold calling, presenting services, and building new community partnerships. Success requires someone who is comfortable initiating conversations, confident representing Career Path Services in front of groups and businesses, and motivated by turning relationships into employment outcomes. Strong attention to detail, follow-through, solutions focused and administrative excellence are equally important to ensure customer progress, documentation, and program requirements stay on track. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with workforce development, social services, job placement, job development, sales, job coaching, employment and training, or related field.
  • Requires advanced level use of: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; LinkedIn, and other business-related networking applications, as appropriate.
  • Must be able to work in a culturally diverse and fast-paced environment and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and cultural competency.
  • Daily availability of personal vehicle or alternate method of transportation sufficient to meet the daily transportation requirements of the position is a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources Sales, Communication, Workforce Development.
  • Appropriate work experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
  • Experience supporting individuals with barriers including low income, disabilities, criminal history, homelessness, etc.
  • Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP).
  • Demonstrated success working in a performance-based system.
  • Experience in public speaking and presentations to a diverse community.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with employers to identify job openings and promote qualified participants.
  • Conduct outreach and develop Career Jump and worksite placement opportunities aligned with participant goals.
  • Facilitate "Meet the Employer" events and other business engagement strategies to support participant employment outcomes.
  • Use a consultative sales approach to align employer needs with candidate skills.
  • Document all employer contacts and outcomes per program requirements.
  • Teach job search strategies, application techniques, interview skills, and workplace expectations.
  • Conduct individual and group coaching sessions to support job search efforts.
  • Track and verify weekly participation, job search documentation, and progress toward goals.
  • Hold participants accountable to service plans and communicate participation issues to Case Managers as needed.
  • Support problem-solving, conflict resolution, and motivation during the job search process.
  • Collaborate with Commerce Case Managers, Job Readiness Coaches, and DSHS to support participant progress.
  • Develop individualized job search/development goals and update service plans and MIS systems (including eJAS) accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all participant services, activities, and outcomes.
  • Coordinate case staffing coverage, continuous activity planning (CAP), and good cause processes as required.
  • Conduct intentional exit planning with participants and ensure all transition activities are completed.
  • Provide post-employment support including check-ins at 7 and 14 days (and beyond as appropriate).
  • Complete and submit employment verifications, referrals to additional resources, and relevant service plan updates.
  • Support transition to unsubsidized employment and provide employer assistance with onboarding as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development activities.
  • Assist with program strategy and process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
