MCRD Job Coach, Food Service
About The Position
The Arc of San Diego is seeking Job Coaches to support its food service employment program at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) in San Diego. In this role, you will supervise and train individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they work in a food service environment. Your responsibilities include ensuring clients meet quality and productivity standards, helping them develop vocational skills, fostering positive workplace relationships, documenting progress, providing transportation, and collaborating with a team to improve service delivery and client outcomes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid California Driver’s License, auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
Nice To Haves
- One (1) year of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with mobile devices.
- Experience with case management systems (Therap preferred).
Responsibilities
- Supervise and provide job coaching support to individuals with disabilities as they work at the MCRD site.
- Provide training and guidance to help clients develop job skills and meet work tasks as required by the Military and Sodexo.
- Assist clients in following their Individual Service Plans (ISP) to promote independence.
- Build positive relationships with clients, coworkers, and site staff.
- Monitor and document client progress using the Therap system.
- Ensure client safety and support them in daily activities.
- Provide transportation to and from the worksite.
