About The Position

Beacon Group is seeking a patient, flexible, and dedicated Job Coach to work with, train, and supervise a team of adults with disabilities. This is a hands-on position where you will provide top-of-the-line services for the individuals on the team while also providing quality service to the customers Beacon serves. The specific services provided will depend on the location and site needs. Beacon Group has been creating opportunities for people with disabilities across Southern Arizona and Phoenix since 1952, serving over 2,000 individuals annually through job training, placement, supported employment, and day treatment programs. As a non-profit organization, Beacon focuses on career development and promotion for its Direct Support Professionals, emphasizing that people are at the core of everything they do.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Minimum of six months of experience working with adults with disabilities.
  • Increased technical skills related to field of work.
  • Successfully pass the drug test and background check.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification, or able to obtain and maintain a CPR/First Aid/AED Certification.
  • Fingerprint clearance card, or able to obtain and maintain a fingerprint clearance card.
  • Provide proof of good driving.
  • Have a valid Arizona Driver's License and pass the Beacon driving test.
  • Article IX, and Prevention and Support certificate or able to obtain and maintain certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a GSA clearance.
  • Ability to balance, bend, stand, walk, kneel, twist, stretch, climb, and sit.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, clients, and the public.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with, train, and supervise a team of adults with disabilities.

  • Use good judgment.
