About The Position

Hands of Heartland is hiring a dependable and compassionate Job Coach in Norfolk, Nebraska, to provide job coaching to people with developmental disabilities. The role involves working directly with individuals in a variety of job settings to help ensure they have meaningful employment. Job Coaches assist individuals at work, communicate professionally with employers, help establish natural supports, provide training, and advocate for individuals on work-related issues. Full-time hours are needed, with a flexible schedule based on individuals’ needs; some evenings and weekends may be required. Starting pay is $18.50 per hour, with higher pay for experience and a CNA license. Incentives are also available. Employees with an active CNA license may earn CEUs while working as a DSP.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must pass all background checks.
Must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Must be flexible and willing to adapt to change.
Strong communication skills and an understanding of the importance of documentation.
Desire to support people and encourage them to reach their goals.
Empathy, patience, understanding, compassion, adaptability, respectfulness, dependability, and sound judgment.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required; training is provided.
