About The Position

Beacon Group has been creating opportunities for people with disabilities across Southern Arizona, Phoenix and beyond since 1952. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, Beacon serves over 2,000 people with disabilities each year. Beacon provides job training and placement, supported and center-based employment, and day treatment programs to assist nearly two-thirds of working-age people with disabilities who do not have a job. As a Beacon employee, you can be a part of delivering our mission and improving the lives of people with disabilities. This position is for a patient, flexible and dedicated person to work with, train and supervise a fantastic team of adults with disabilities. Daily duties of this position is to provide top of the line services for the individuals on the team while providing quality service to the customers we provide a variety of services for. This is a hands-on position. The services that Beacon provides to our customers is dependent on the location and site needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Minimum of six months of experience working with adults with disabilities.
  • Increased technical skills related to field of work.
  • Successfully pass the drug test and background check.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification, or able to obtain and maintain a CPR/First Aid/AED Certification.
  • Fingerprint clearance card, or able to obtain and maintain a fingerprint clearance card.
  • Provide proof of good driving.
  • Have a valid Arizona Driver's License and pass the Beacon driving test.
  • Article IX, and Prevention and Support certificate or able to obtain and maintain certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a GSA clearance.
  • Ability to balance, bend, stand, walk, kneel, twist, stretch, climb, and sit.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to tolerate environmental conditions, such as hot, cold, wetness, dust, noise, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Work with, train, and supervise a team of adults with disabilities.
  • Provide top-of-the-line services for individuals on the team.
  • Provide quality service to customers.
  • Write accurate, clear, and informative case notes.
  • Work, drive, and travel independently to various sites.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Follow instructions.
  • Work effectively with staff, clients, and the public.
