About The Position

Candeo is a non-profit focused on helping, supporting, and teaching people to live their best lives. The organization is committed to an inclusive culture and a learning-based work environment. Job Coaches work in the community or at clients’ places of employment, supporting clients in obtaining and maintaining community employment. The position is part time, approximately 10 hours per week, with work on weekdays after 3 p.m. and weekends. Pay is $16.00 per hour. Paid, ongoing training is provided, and there is an opportunity to go full time.

Requirements

An associate degree in Business, Human Services, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is preferred.
Experience working with people with disabilities and/or mental health is preferable.
Valid Call C Driver’s License.
Proof of automobile insurance.
Valid telephone number and address.
Internet and email access, smartphone access, and Microsoft Teams access; Teams must be downloaded onto a phone or computer.
High level of written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to pass motor vehicle and criminal background checks.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.
Ability to tolerate emotions such as frustration.
Ability to learn and apply systematic instruction when coaching people with disabilities in the workplace.
Possess a motor vehicle that meets required operational and maintenance guidelines in accordance with Iowa Department of Transportation motor vehicle safety standards and Candeo’s Motor Vehicle Guideline.
