About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Jira Administrator / Atlassian Platform Administrator to join our Engineering Enablement team. This individual will serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for the Atlassian ecosystem, supporting a diverse technology organization and enabling engineering teams through scalable, well-governed platform solutions. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Jira Administration, Confluence administration, and overall Atlassian platform governance, while providing strategic guidance on platform architecture, configuration, and best practices. This role requires someone who can immediately contribute to day-to-day administration activities while helping drive long-term platform maturity and avoiding unnecessary customization that could create technical debt. This team supports critical development and collaboration platforms used across the enterprise, including Jira, Confluence, GitHub, CI/CD tooling, SonarQube, and additional developer enablement technologies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Jira Administration experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong experience administering the Atlassian ecosystem, including: Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence
• Experience configuring and managing: Workflows, Permissions Schemes, Dashboards, Filters, Automations, Reporting
• Strong understanding of Jira governance and platform best practices.
• Experience supporting multiple teams and business units within a shared Jira environment.
• Ability to work independently and serve as the primary platform administrator.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience administering GitHub.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience supporting developer enablement platforms and tooling.
• Familiarity with SonarQube or code quality platforms.
• Experience working within Agile and Scrum environments.
• Experience with Atlassian Cloud administration and platform migrations.
• Scripting or automation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Jira, Confluence, and other Atlassian platform components.
• Configure projects, workflows, issue types, screens, schemes, permissions, notifications, and automations.
• Support Jira governance initiatives, ensuring consistency, scalability, and maintainability across the platform.
• Review and recommend solutions that align with Atlassian best practices and minimize unnecessary customization.
• Design and implement platform improvements that enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
• Manage platform upgrades, integrations, and configuration changes.
• Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and administration procedures.
• Act as a trusted advisor for Jira architecture, configuration decisions, and platform roadmap planning.
• Partner with Agile, Engineering, Product, and Technology teams to understand requirements and recommend scalable solutions.
• Evaluate feature requests and business needs while balancing governance, usability, and long-term sustainability.
• Identify opportunities to improve platform adoption, reporting, dashboards, workflows, and automation.
• Troubleshoot platform issues and provide advanced Jira administration support.
• Manage user access, permissions, security groups, and licensing.
• Support Atlassian integrations with other enterprise tools and platforms.
• Partner with stakeholders to resolve platform-related incidents and service requests.
• Develop training materials and provide user guidance when needed.
