About The Position

Provides mechanical skilled trade support as assigned by department Supervisor. This role involves inspecting, installing, maintaining, and repairing systems. The position requires troubleshooting, ordering parts, documenting work, and operating power tools. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean work area, adhering to safety regulations, and completing tasks with minimal supervision. A key part of the role is loading and unloading jigs, which includes handling metal parts up to 100 lbs, using tools like tape measures and clamps, and ensuring proper assembly with latches and foam blocks. The position also requires adherence to standard operating procedures and wearing required safety gear.

Requirements

Six months or more of equivalent experience.
Must have the ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
Ability to properly utilize provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including eye protection, hearing protection, half-face and/or Powered Air Purifying Respirators, protective clothing, and fall restraint harnesses.
Ability to work 40 hours per week and be available for overtime when necessary.
Available for training on various shifts.
Consistently/Frequently - see (vision), hear, ability to read and write, ability to interpret information, basic math, reading, and writing in English.
Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Inspects and performs mechanical installation/maintenance/repair on systems as required.
Troubleshoots and addresses repairs and maintenance.
Orders and organizes parts, supplies, and equipment necessary to complete jobs effectively.
Documents the installation/maintenance/repairs performed and ensures accordance with procedure.
Operates power tools and may use chemicals that require safety training.
Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
Completes tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
Loads jig, which involves the use of hands and arms to open jig, put metal in jig; adding latches and foam blocks, adding wooden blocks to fill space. Involves the use of hands, arms and feet to lift metal refrigeration parts weighing up to 100 lbs. Will involve using a tape measure, setting clamps to hold metal in place, closing and locking doors, and cleaning out foam shot hole.
Removes wooden blocks and takes panel, cabinet, etc. to next process. Involves the use of verbal communication skills to receive directions through personal conversation.
Responsible for adhering to all standard operating procedures to promote the safety of all employees, including wearing safety gear when required; hearing warning sounds, and recognizing potentially dangerous situations in an indoor plant environment.
Keeps workspace clean and clutter-free.
Retrieves required supplies as needed.
Performs duties of other workers in the departments such as building skids.
Other duties as assigned.
