DESCRIPTION: Join our manufacturing team as a Lead Operator at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll contribute to global health and scientific advancement. In this key role, you'll lead and mentor a team while ensuring consistent execution of production processes. You'll support operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Working with advanced technology, you'll coordinate daily manufacturing activities, resolve complex issues, and foster an inclusive environment that values innovation and collaboration. Requirements

  • High School Diploma OR GED Required
  • 4 years of manufacturing experience
  • Strong knowledge of cGMP, ISO standards and regulatory requirements
  • Expert ability to read and interpret manufacturing documentation, SOPs, and technical specifications
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Demonstrated success implementing continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with manufacturing software systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to strictly follow safety protocols and maintain clean room/controlled environment standards
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in PPE as required
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed
  • Experience with documentation and batch record review in regulated environments
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities
  • Experience training and developing team members
  • Is reliable and dependable.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to effectively adhere to directions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • The ability to read, speak, and comprehend English

  • Preferred Fields of Study: Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or related field
  • Technical certifications in manufacturing or relevant field beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Establish, upkeep, and run membrane Casting Equipment for LifeASSURE™ line operations.
  • Arrange all Membrane Casting Equipment such as cutting and slitting equipment.
  • Instruct operators on accurate methods of operating equipment.
  • Keep records and locations of batches produced.
  • Assess Membrane Casting Equipment and partner with the appropriate team members to resolve any issues identified.
  • Assist other department members (in any classification) as needed to ensure safety and improve output.
  • Perform various production operations including the operation of multiple machines, where it can be done safely, and fill in on positions throughout manufacturing as required.
  • Assist in the training of other employees as necessary.
  • Work with others under the team's guidelines when and where appropriate.
  • Observe all company and OSHA safety rules and practices.
  • Access information via computer.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Must meet or exceed all established housekeeping and safety standards.
  • Perform other related duties as the need arises or assigned.
