About The Position

Snapology is seeking a Jewish Robotics Competition Instructor to mentor and prepare students for FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) robotics competitions. This role involves leading hands-on challenges in robotics, engineering, coding, and innovation, inspiring students to think like engineers and fostering creativity, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Criminal and Child Clearances must be current
  • Experience with robotics, STEM, engineering, computer science, or education.
  • Comfortable working with children in grades K–8.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Reliable transportation to local program sites.
  • Available weekday afternoons and occasional weekends for competitions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with LEGO® Education SPIKE Prime, FIRST® LEGO® League, VEX, or similar robotics platforms is preferred.
  • Previous coaching or teaching experience.
  • Experience participating in robotics competitions.
  • Programming experience with Scratch, Python, or block-based coding.
  • Passion for mentoring and inspiring young learners.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and mentor FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) teams throughout the robotics season.
  • Lead groups of up to 15 students through robotics, engineering, coding, and innovation curriculum.
  • Guide students through robot design, programming, testing, and competition preparation.
  • Facilitate teamwork, communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Prepare students for official FIRST® LEGO® League tournaments and presentations.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the safe use of robotics equipment and technology.
  • Manage classroom behavior by establishing positive expectations and maintaining an engaging learning environment.
  • Encourage and monitor individual student growth while adapting instruction to meet varying skill levels.
  • Prepare for each session by reviewing curriculum, competition updates, training materials, and lesson plans.
  • Communicate professionally with parents regarding student progress, competition schedules, and program information.
  • Encourage students and parents to enroll in future Snapology programs.
  • Participate in periodic Snapology training and staff meetings, as required.
