About The Position

Boscov’s is hiring Seasonal Part-Time Jewelry Sales Associates to join its retail team. Associates build relationships with customers, identify and meet their needs efficiently, provide accurate product information, and promote merchandise to achieve successful sales. The role involves creating a professional yet personalized customer experience, maintaining the jewelry selling floor and merchandise, supporting sales and marketing goals, and accurately completing transactions and paperwork in accordance with company policies.

The position is with Boscov’s, a full-service department store chain serving family needs and offering a broad selection of merchandise in stores and online. The starting rate is $16.10 per hour, plus commissions. Employees are paid weekly and receive a liberal employee discount.

Requirements

• Ability and desire to actively engage customers, sell merchandise, and provide excellent customer service.
• Prior retail sales and/or customer service experience preferred.
• Prior retail and/or selling experience in fine jewelry or gemstones preferred.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with basic math skills.
• Ability to learn selling skills and operate a POS register and Telxon.
• Availability to work varied days and hours as scheduled, including evenings and weekends.

• Prior retail sales and/or customer service experience.
• Prior retail and/or selling experience in fine jewelry or gemstones.

Responsibilities

• Sell merchandise and provide customer service according to company standards, including greeting and acknowledging customers and maintaining solid product knowledge.
• Build professional, personalized rapport with customers to establish confidence, close sales, and provide a strong customer experience.
• Maintain the appearance of the selling floor.
• Perform marketing activities, such as opening new Boscov’s charge accounts, to achieve company goals.
• Complete transactions and paperwork accurately and efficiently while following company policies and procedures.
• Stay aware of advertised merchandise and assist with receiving, folding, straightening, processing, maintaining, and replenishing stock.
