Jet Bridge Operator

About The Position

The Jet Bridge Operator positions the jet bridge on aircraft for arrivals and removes it from aircraft for departures. The role requires extreme caution because the jet bridge is one of the few pieces of equipment that touches an aircraft. Operators must be ramp-side by the bridge 15 minutes before arrivals and departures to complete the required checks. Before moving the bridge, the operator ensures it is correctly stowed in the appropriate box, cables are stowed, the canopy and auto-level are fully engaged or disengaged as appropriate, and the area is clear of vehicles, objects, and ramp personnel. Training takes approximately 4–6 weeks. After training, agents are required to work independently on at least two jet bridges. Additional tasks may be assigned.

  • Possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and any other FAA- or airport-required identification, seals, or authorizations.
