About The Position

The Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law seeks an engaging, detail-oriented and creative individual to join the Admissions and Financial Aid team in the position of JD Admissions Coordinator. This position will coordinate and facilitate recruitment activities, events, visits, and programs across all JD pathways. This position will also have admissions counseling responsibilities, including advising applicants on the admissions process, conducting admissions interviews, reviewing files, and attending recruitment events. Additionally, this position will assist with the daily operations of the JD Admissions Office. This position will report to the Assistant Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree and one (1) year of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, service-oriented office
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Evidence of effective communication skills
  • Advising or customer service experience
  • Experience with budgetary tracking and reconciliation
  • Experience in working with varied populations
  • Experience working with confidential information or files
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Collaborative, proactive, adaptable, and pragmatic
  • Ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.

Responsibilities

  • Support and help to develop effective recruitment initiatives and programs
  • Interact and serve as a liaison with students, faculty, staff, and alumni in facilitating admissions programs
  • Effectively communicate information about all aspects of the College of Law, including delivering presentations to groups, maintaining student-facing information and resources, and holding frequent information sessions, individual advising appointments, and admissions interviews for prospective JD students
  • Organize and execute admitted students’ programs and other admissions and prospective student events and meetings, including occasional virtual or off-site events and some evenings and weekends
  • Handle incoming and outgoing communications with prospective and admitted students via email, telephone, video/Zoom, in person, and through social media platforms
  • Help to coordinate and schedule group visits
  • Evaluate applicant files and make recommendations on the applicant record
  • Track purchases and expenditures, prepare financial documentation, and process travel and event reimbursements and credit card expenses
  • Maintain and manage various software systems, forms, and records related to recruitment events and application information and assist with data inquiries and organization
  • Perform various administrative duties, such as data entry and maintaining spreadsheets, document and word processing, and event material preparation
  • Work closely with the entire admissions and financial aid team to meet recruitment goals and collaborate effectively, and assist with additional tasks related to recruitment, financial aid, processing, operations, and compliance
  • Physical presence at the College of Law is an essential function or requirement of this job
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support the goals of the department and ASU Law
