About The Position

SMX has an immediate opportunity for a JAVA Software Engineer in its Space and Intelligence Business Unit. The team builds, integrates, and operationally supports emerging space-ground systems, including real-time data processing frameworks, sensor data processing, and data visualization. The engineer will develop microservices and help build full-stack web applications using Java, C++, Python, and cloud technologies within an Agile software development paradigm. The position is performed onsite at the customer’s location in Boulder, Colorado, five days per week. A TS/SCI clearance is required.

Responsibilities

Perform microservice software development using Java, C++, and/or Python in an Agile software development paradigm.
Interface with and help build full-stack web applications using Java, C++, Python, and cloud technologies.
Work with Agile, DevSecOps, Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Deployment (CD) practices using GitLab, test automation, and other tools.
Assist in defining and implementing configurations for commercial cloud-based development environments.
Perform unit-level software testing for assigned features and support integration testing as applicable.
Provide leadership and mentorship to technical teams.
Collaborate across disciplines with internal and external customers to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Provide tasking and technical direction to junior engineers, and review work products at multiple levels.
Develop and maintain training materials.
