JAVA Software Engineer (5775) (Boulder, CO) (TS/SCI)
About The Position
SMX’s Space and Intelligence Business Unit develops, integrates, and operationally supports emerging space-ground systems across orbital regimes, including real-time data processing frameworks, sensor data processing, and data visualization. The JAVA Software Engineer performs microservice software development in an Agile environment and helps build full-stack web applications using Java, C++, Python, and cloud technologies. This position is based at the customer’s location in Boulder, Colorado, and requires on-site work five days per week. The role contributes to software development lifecycle practices, cloud-based development environments, testing, technical team leadership and mentorship, and collaboration with internal and external customers.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
- Java skills are required.

Responsibilities
- Use Agile, DevSecOps, continuous integration, and continuous deployment practices, making use of GitLab, test automation, and other tools.
- Assist in defining and implementing configurations for commercial cloud-based development environments.
- Perform unit-level software testing for assigned features and support integration testing as applicable.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to technical teams.
- Collaborate in a cross-disciplinary environment with internal and external customers to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Provide tasking and technical direction to junior engineers, and review work products at multiple levels.
- Develop and maintain training materials.
