About The Position

SMX’s Space and Intelligence Business Unit develops, integrates, and operationally supports emerging space-ground systems across orbital regimes, including real-time data processing frameworks, sensor data processing, and data visualization. The Java Software Engineer will perform microservice software development in an Agile software development environment and help build full-stack web applications using Java, C++, Python, and cloud technologies. The position is onsite at the customer’s location in Boulder, Colorado, five days per week. A TS/SCI clearance is required.

Responsibilities

Perform microservice software development using Java, C++, and/or Python in an Agile software development paradigm.
Interface with and help build full-stack web applications using Java, C++, Python, and cloud technologies.
Work with Agile, DevSecOps, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment lifecycle concepts using GitLab, test automation, and other tools.
Assist in defining and implementing configurations for a commercial cloud-based development environment.
Perform unit-level software testing for assigned features and support integration testing as applicable.
Provide leadership and mentorship to technical teams.
Collaborate in a cross-discipline environment with internal and external customers to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Provide tasking and technical direction to junior engineers and review work products at multiple levels.
Develop and maintain training materials.
