Java/Python Cucumber Automation Test Engineer - Intermediate Wilmington, DE
About The Position
Innova Solutions is hiring a Java/Python Cucumber Automation Test Engineer on a 12-month contract for a hybrid position in Wilmington, Delaware. As an Automation Testing Java Developer on the Credit Card team, you will design, develop, and maintain automated tests to help ensure products meet quality standards. You will work with team members to integrate testing into development pipelines and support process improvements, while learning tools and exploring emerging technologies in a fast-paced environment. The position involves collaboration with product owners, technology teams, and business partners; participation in Agile ceremonies and sprint activities; and support for both automated and manual testing. The role is open only to candidates who can be engaged on a W-2 basis; 1099 and Corp-to-Corp arrangements are not considered.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in test automation or technical roles.
- Experience building and maintaining API automated tests.
- Familiarity with Selenium, Cucumber, or similar open-source automation tools.
- Experience with Java and basic knowledge of Python.
- Understanding of Business-Driven Development techniques, including JUnit, FitNesse, Selenium, and Cucumber.
- Exposure to CI/CD practices and tools such as Jenkins, Maven, and Git.
- Experience working in Agile teams or projects.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated tests using Selenium, Cucumber, and related tools.
- Build and maintain API automated tests using tools such as Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, or Selenium.
- Support integration of automated tests with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Maven, and Git.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation coverage and efficiency.
- Collaborate with product owners, technology teams, and business partners.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint activities.
- Learn and adopt new testing tools and methodologies, and experiment with emerging technologies and share ideas with the team.
- Assist in designing and executing automated and manual test cases.
- Monitor quality metrics and communicate test progress to stakeholders.
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Support manual testing when automation is not feasible.
