About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Java Test Automation Engineer with a strong background in software development and end-to-end functional automation testing. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Java, Playwright, and CI/CD integration using Jenkins. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks, integrating testing into pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery. You will also play a key role in test planning, execution, reporting, and supporting various testing phases, including UAT. Additionally, there are opportunities to mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvements.

Requirements

6+ years of software development experience.
Strong hands-on experience in Java application development.
Experience developing end-to-end functional automation test cases using Playwright with Java.
Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS preferred).
Experience with Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline integration.
Experience working and integrating with Xray (Jira Test Management) for test planning, execution, and reporting.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and quality engineering practices.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction and drive solutions from analysis through implementation.
Experience performing complex technical and functional analysis, design, development, and testing activities.
Knowledge of application architecture principles and participation in design/architecture reviews.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to Trading / Order Management Systems (OMS) / Financial Services domain is a plus but not mandatory.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Familiarity with test automation frameworks, API testing, and integration testing.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automated functional test frameworks and test suites using Playwright and Java.
Build and implement end-to-end test scenarios across web applications.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
Manage test execution, defect tracking, and reporting through Xray/Jira.
Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business parties to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
Participate in architecture and design discussions and work towards innovative technical solutions.
Support all testing phases, including system testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance and procedures.
Enhance process improvements and automation enhancements.
Participate in production/application support and on-call rotation as required.
