About The Position
We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with strong Oracle expertise to support a critical migration project from SDWIS (Safe Drinking Water Information System) to DW-SFITES (Drinking Water State-Federal-Tribal Information Exchange System). This role will involve both operational support and new development efforts, making it ideal for professionals who enjoy working on enterprise-scale applications and system modernization initiatives.
Requirements
- Advanced Java development experience in enterprise environments
- Strong Oracle Database skills including SQL, query optimization, and data management
- Experience creating, consuming, and modifying APIs
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Nice To Haves
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude)
- Power BI or Tableau dashboard development experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and technical documentation skills
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain existing Java-based SDWIS applications
- Troubleshoot, resolve defects, and monitor application performance
- Participate in migration activities from SDWIS to DW-SFITES
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level Java applications
- Develop and enhance APIs for system integrations
- Write and optimize complex Oracle database queries and procedures
- Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to meet project goals
- Create technical documentation and support knowledge transfer
- Analyze and resolve complex application and database issues
