About The Position

As a Java Developer, you will design, develop, and support backend services that power high-volume charting, market data, and analytics solutions. This role requires close collaboration with engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance applications within an Agile development environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on software engineer who enjoys working on mission-critical applications, taking ownership of features throughout the software development lifecycle, and contributing to the design and delivery of modern backend services and APIs.

Requirements

4+ years of professional software development experience.
4+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, object-oriented analysis, and design principles.
Experience designing, developing, and supporting backend services and RESTful APIs.
Experience building and supporting distributed systems and client/server applications.
Strong experience with Spring Framework and related Java technologies.
Experience developing and supporting applications in Linux and/or Windows environments.
Experience with source control systems, automated testing frameworks, build tools, and deployment pipelines.
Experience working with relational databases and data access technologies.
Knowledge of messaging technologies and event-driven architectures.
Experience analyzing and improving application performance, scalability, and reliability.
Demonstrated ability to independently own features from requirements through production support.
Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Experience participating in code reviews and technical design discussions.
Experience working within Agile development methodologies and teams.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience with real-time streaming, market data platforms, or data-intensive applications is preferred.
Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern software delivery practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services supporting charting, analytics, and data-driven applications.
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.
Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Design and implement RESTful APIs and service integrations for internal and customer-facing applications.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production incidents.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards, technical designs, and best practices.
Support release activities and ensure system stability, availability, scalability, and performance.
Develop and maintain distributed and client/server applications.
Optimize application performance and reliability through continuous improvement initiatives.
Take ownership of features from design through deployment and ongoing support.
