Java Backend Developer with AWS
About The Position
The Java Backend Developer will work in the Infosys Financial Services unit, which supports digital transformation for financial institutions through AI, cloud, and data-led innovation. The role is assigned as Technology Consultant 2 and involves contributing to requirements elicitation, facilitating software design discussions, developing and integrating application features, maintaining code, testing software, supporting users, and resolving production issues. The position covers end-to-end software development lifecycle activities and involves collaboration with cross-functional teams. The role is based in Reston, Virginia; relocation and/or travel to the work or project location may be required.
Requirements
- Experience developing software using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and REST APIs.
- Experience with Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker.
- Experience with Amazon core services.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution, or three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of each year of education.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Kafka or MQ, Spring Security, JPA, XML, XSLT, JAXB, JAXP, MVC, JUnit, test frameworks, and design patterns.
- Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or MongoDB.
Responsibilities
- Document assigned portions of business requirements as part of requirements elicitation.
- Facilitate software application design discussions and document design decisions for the technical team.
- Participate in coding and integrate new features or updates into existing applications while maintaining system stability.
- Conduct code reviews, make changes to the codebase, and maintain code repositories.
- Implement test strategies, analyze results, and coordinate bug fixes to uphold software quality standards.
- Develop user training programs, documentation, and support frameworks to support transitions to new applications.
- Resolve production issues and recommend preventive strategies to improve system reliability.
- Maintain records of code, testing techniques, and support activities for the knowledge base and related projects.
- Contribute across SDLC phases, from requirements gathering through implementation, and work with cross-functional teams on software integration.
