About The Position

The Java Architect will lead the design and development of Java applications and Spring Boot microservices with REST APIs and a user-interface framework. The role focuses on applied generative AI, including hands-on work with large language models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), fine-tuning, and prompt engineering, as well as familiarity with managed LLM platforms such as AWS Bedrock. The position also involves designing cloud-based solutions on AWS and applying sound technical practices in areas such as security, transactions, monitoring, and performance. The role is based in McLean, Virginia, and requires working onsite five days a week. Candidates must have 10–18 years of experience and be authorized to work in the United States on a long-term basis without current or future employer sponsorship. The position calls for an independent, communicative self-starter who learns new technologies quickly and contributes to project design, development, and deployment discussions.
