About The Position

This is a newly created position for a Japanese Bilingual Accounting Specialist at a major travel company. The role focuses on daily accounting tasks, primarily Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). The position offers a hybrid work model, with 4 days remote and 1 day on-site per week. The salary is hourly, ranging from $24 to $28 per hour, with an annual equivalent of approximately $45,760 to $58,240 based on a 40-hour work week. The work hours are from 8:45 AM to 5:30 PM.

Requirements

Approximately 3-5 years of practical accounting experience.
Japanese language proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking) is essential.
English proficiency sufficient to handle job duties.
Practical experience in Accounts Payable/Receivable.
Knowledge and experience in journal entries, bank reconciliations, and monthly closing procedures.
An Associate Degree in Accounting or equivalent knowledge/experience.

Ability to accurately process daily AP/AR tasks.
Skilled in checking detailed numbers and processing invoices.
Ability to communicate smoothly internally and externally in both Japanese and English.
Desire to handle hands-on accounting tasks.

Responsibilities

Handle daily accounting tasks, focusing on Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
Process accounts payable, including invoice confirmation and payment processing.
Manage accounts receivable, including deposit processing.
Handle ACH, Wire Transfer, and credit card related transactions.
Perform journal entries and manage the General Ledger.
Conduct bank reconciliations.
Register vendors and handle inquiries.
Prepare monthly and quarterly reports.
Manage AP/AR Aging Reports and balance sheet related tasks.
Perform accounting confirmations between group companies and general administrative duties.
