About The Position

The Janitorial Floor Technician performs daily janitorial floor work and cleaning assignments according to stated specifications or as directed by a supervisor. The role includes operating commercial floor equipment, maintaining a variety of floors, and completing other janitorial duties as needed. The position is located at 10600 Springfield Pike, Cincinnati, Ohio, and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The employer is a not-for-profit social service organization.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED preferred.
2–5 years of janitorial services experience, including stripping, waxing, scrubbing, buffing, carpet cleaning, and operating commercial janitorial floor machinery.
Prior janitorial floor work experience.
Ability to work independently after receiving instructions and to be a self-starter.
Knowledge of chemical and emergency procedures.
Ability to identify and maintain different types of flooring used in industrial and office establishments.
Ability to locate and operate typical commercial janitorial floor machines used in industrial and office establishments.
Must pass clearance background checks.

Responsibilities

Perform assigned contractual and functional janitorial work as directed by the janitorial supervisor.
Operate commercial floor machines; strip, wax, scrub, and buff floors; clean carpets; and perform other janitorial functions as needed.
Keep equipment clean and operational and follow the preventive maintenance schedule.
Wear safety equipment when and where required.
Clean restrooms, entrances, warehouse areas, docks, stores, corridors, lobbies, and office floors by sweeping, mopping, and other methods.
Empty trash receptacles daily.
Dust appropriate areas.
Vacuum carpets.
Perform other duties as assigned.
