About The Position

RHF is seeking a Janitorial / Floor Care Technician at Angelus Plaza, a senior residential community with more than 1,000 units in downtown Los Angeles. Floor care is a primary responsibility, including maintaining a variety of floor surfaces and operating commercial floor-care equipment. The role also performs general janitorial duties to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming spaces for residents, staff, and visitors.

The position is full-time and non-exempt, with a pay range of $19.00–$22.00 per hour. The employee may need to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Requirements

• Familiarity with cleaning products, floor-care methods, and safe chemical handling.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and move supplies and equipment as required.
• Reliability and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Previous floor-care, custodial, or janitorial experience is preferred.
• Experience using commercial floor-care equipment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain tile, vinyl, laminate, carpet, and other floor surfaces.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, buff, burnish, wax, and strip floors as needed.
• Vacuum, spot-clean, shampoo, and extract carpets.
• Perform general janitorial duties in hallways, offices, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Clean interior windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
• Collect and dispose of trash and maintain designated waste areas.
• Operate floor-care equipment, including buffers, burnishers, scrubbers, and carpet extractors.
• Follow cleaning chemical procedures and safety guidelines, including wet-floor signage requirements.
• Monitor cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when inventory needs replenishing.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down furniture for community events.
• Perform deep cleaning and floor treatments as assigned.
• Communicate with the supervisor regarding cleaning needs, maintenance concerns, and completed tasks.
