About The Position

ESFM, the corporate Integrated Facilities Management division of Compass Group USA, is hiring a part-time Janitor in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The position keeps buildings clean and orderly and performs heavy cleaning duties, including floor care, carpet shampooing, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. The schedule is part time, with days that may vary, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; further details will be provided during the interview. Experience is required. The fixed pay rate is $18.18 per hour.

The Janitor cleans assigned areas using assigned materials and equipment, sanitizes surfaces, and follows the eight-step cleaning procedure. Work is performed in accordance with applicable federal, state, and county guidelines and approved procedures, including infection control plans. The role also involves taking initiative to identify areas that need cleaning, completing supervisor-assigned tasks, contributing to the team, and maintaining professionalism with customers, coworkers, and others.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dust and damp mop floors following approved procedures.
• Move equipment and furniture to clean properly, then return furniture to its correct placement.
• Clean assigned areas using assigned materials and equipment, sanitize surfaces, and follow the eight-step cleaning procedure.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Identify areas requiring cleaning and take initiative to complete the work.
• Complete tasks assigned by the supervisor.
• Perform tasks in accordance with federal, state, and county guidelines.
• Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors; shampoo carpet.
• Contribute to the team and exhibit professionalism with customers, fellow employees, and others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
