About The Position

The Janitor keeps buildings clean and orderly by performing routine and heavy cleaning duties, including cleaning floors, shampooing rugs and carpets, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. The position uses assigned materials and equipment to clean and sanitize designated areas, following approved procedures and the eight-step cleaning procedure. The Janitor also helps maintain a safe, clean environment for patients, visitors, and staff, and follows applicable federal, state, and county guidelines.

This is a part-time position at MDT, 6700 Shingle Creek Parkway, Minneapolis, Minnesota. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with hours that may vary. No experience is necessary; training is provided. The fixed pay rate is $21.25 per hour.

Requirements

• No experience is necessary; willing to train.

Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of trash according to approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dust and damp mop floors according to approved procedures.
• Move equipment and furniture to clean, then return furniture to its correct placement.
• Clean assigned areas using assigned materials and equipment, and sanitize all surfaces.
• Follow the eight-step cleaning procedure.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Identify areas requiring cleaning and take initiative to complete the task.
• Complete tasks assigned by the supervisor.
• Perform duties in accordance with federal, state, and county guidelines.
• Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors; shampoo carpet.
• Contribute to the team and act professionally with customers, fellow employees, and others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
