About The Position

The Janitor performs general facility upkeep, including basic repairs, and helps ensure the building, equipment, and systems remain clean, safe, and functional. The role includes applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and maintaining tidy, well-functioning facilities. It works under moderate supervision and requires at least two years of general work experience, as specified in the qualifications.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years of general work experience.
A proven record of reliability, including two or more years at previous jobs.
Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience using hand and electrical tools.
Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
Strong troubleshooting know-how and attention to detail.
Ability to use ladders and/or scissor lifts.
Ability to climb and move around machinery and work at heights.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and team-lift 50 or more pounds, using safe lifting practices.
Ability to understand written work direction.
English language skills.
Honesty, a positive attitude, respectfulness, dependability, and reliability.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual English/Spanish skills.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain buildings, facilities, and equipment.
Use cleaning tools and products to create a clean, healthy environment.
Remove and dispose of trash, recycling, and other waste according to applicable policies.
Perform minor repairs, such as fixing broken locks and filling gaps in walls.
Install appliances and equipment.
Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs.
Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems, including ventilation.
Check the functionality of safety systems, such as fire alarms.
Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations.
Report issues to a facilities or maintenance manager and communicate work-related issues to the supervisor.
Immediately report defective materials or questionable conditions.
Address potential safety hazards to help prevent injuries.
Provide training to other technicians in various disciplines as needed.
Train subordinate employees on job skills and Company policies and procedures.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and projects.
Keep the work area and equipment clean and orderly, and follow prescribed safety regulations.
Contribute to team efforts by completing related duties as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
