About The Position

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas within the facility, completing assigned duties with minimal supervision. Work includes general cleaning, restroom sanitation, snow removal, lawn care, minor repairs, and operating cleaning equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in safely using manual and power tools.
• Ability to regularly bend, stoop, move between ground and higher levels, and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolding, reach, lift, pull, push, stoop, squat, bend, and stretch throughout the assigned shift.

Nice To Haves

• Previous custodial or cleaning experience.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, polish, dust, remove trash, wash windows, and clean or move furniture and equipment.
• Clean and disinfect restroom floors, sinks, toilets, receptacles, walls, doors, partitions, and other surfaces; replenish restroom products and remove trash.
• Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Notify management when major repairs or supplies are needed.
• Remove snow from sidewalks and spread snow-melting chemicals as needed.
• Perform minor building and furniture repairs, including replacing light bulbs and chair tips and tightening fasteners.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Perform lawn care and other general cleaning responsibilities.
