About The Position

This position is responsible for cleaning assigned areas to an acceptable level of quality and requires a working knowledge of janitorial terms. Responsibilities include restroom cleaning, office cleaning (vacuuming, dusting, emptying trash), floor care (dust mopping, wet mopping, stripping, scrubbing, carpet spot cleaning), computer room cleaning, glass cleaning, and polishing furniture, chrome, and stainless steel. The role also involves maintaining a safe and clean environment, complying with agency policies, procedures, and safety standards, and meeting regulatory standards such as CARF, OSHA, and Department of Labor.

Requirements

Ability to read or identify names of chemicals on containers.
Experience with proper use of chemicals and equipment.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.
Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work.
Practical knowledge of custodial work, including cleaning and waxing compounds, mechanical equipment used.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, general business instructions, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with daily operational challenges with a calm demeanor.
Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned areas to an acceptable level of quality.
Perform restroom cleaning, including cleaning and sanitizing fixtures.
Perform office cleaning, including vacuuming, dusting high and low, and emptying trash cans.
Perform floor care, such as dust mopping, wet mopping, stripping and scrubbing, and carpet spot cleaning.
Perform computer rooms cleaning, glass cleaning, and polishing of furniture, chrome, and stainless steel.
Maintain a safe and clean environment.
Comply with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards.
Ensure safety training throughout areas and maintain same to meet CARF, OSHA, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.
Perform other duties as agreed upon with the Program Coordinator.
