About The Position

MetroPower's Intern / Management Trainee Program is designed to develop future construction project management and leadership talent through hands-on field experience, project exposure, and training in branch operations. The Intern Track is designed for students currently pursuing a bachelor's degree who are interested in gaining real-world experience in electrical construction and project management. The Management Trainee Track is designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals seeking a long-term career in construction project management and leadership. Trainees will complete progressive field and operational assignments with the goal of assuming increased responsibility within MetroPower.

Requirements

  • Quick learners with strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, personal integrity, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented construction environment
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree (for Intern Candidates)
  • Strong interest in construction, engineering, or project management (for Intern Candidates)
  • Desire to learn and contribute as part of a team (for Intern Candidates)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (for Intern Candidates)
  • Valid driver's license (for Intern Candidates)
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (for Management Trainee Candidates)
  • Related construction experience may substitute for education (for Management Trainee Candidates)
  • Strong interest in a career in construction project management and leadership (for Management Trainee Candidates)
  • Willingness to travel and work in field environments (for Management Trainee Candidates)
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (for Management Trainee Candidates)

Responsibilities

  • Gain exposure to electrical construction field operations and worksite safety
  • Learn about materials, equipment, installation processes, and blueprint reading
  • Understand project management, estimating, bidding, and scheduling
  • Assist with material handling, order processing, and project documentation
  • Learn about Quality Assurance/Quality Control and process improvement
  • Gain exposure to customer service and business operations
  • Understand leadership and MetroPower's Servant Leadership philosophy
  • Assist with special projects, market research, and other assignments as needed
  • Interns will primarily focus on learning, field exposure, and supporting project teams
  • Management Trainees will receive progressive training in project, operational, and leadership responsibilities
