About The Position

This is an on-call janitorial position requiring a high level of cleanliness and attention to detail. The role involves performing essential cleaning tasks in an office building and/or apartment housing setting. The pay rate is $18.50/hour + $5.36/hour H&W. Candidates must be able to pass a background check and drug testing.

Requirements

Must be physically able to perform all duties and tasks.
Must be free of communicable diseases.
Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
Must be able to pass background check and drug testing.
3 months of general experience of progressively responsible housekeeping/sanitation or other work that applies knowledge and skills to perform the position.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Demonstrates good customer relationship skills.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of janitorial methods, practices, materials, tools, occupational hazards, and safety precautions of the janitorial work.
Knowledge and experience with Alaska Native cultures.

Responsibilities

Follow all rules and regulations relative to entering and leaving the building.
Utilize cleaning products, chemicals, vacuums, mops, wringers, dust tools, and floor machines.
Report fires, hazardous conditions, and items in need of repair.
Sweep and mop floors.
Empty trash cans.
Clean surfaces.
Vacuum & wax floors.
Perform routine heavy cleaning.
Move furniture as needed.
Document weekly and monthly tasks.
Adhere to all applicable health and safety regulations.
Follow established procedure methods for handling and mixing chemicals.
