About The Position
Accord Federal Services, LLC is a veteran-owned government contracting firm located in Knoxville, TN. Our core area of business is facility management and maintenance of federal government properties. We have been in operation for over thirteen years and have existing contracts at locations across the country. This position is for the 1st shift, 7:45 am - 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday, at the Danny L. Carr VA Outpatient Clinic in Sevierville, TN. The pay rate is $17.75/HR. The Janitor will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining assigned areas and washrooms in an orderly condition. Duties include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing floors; removing trash and refuse; dusting equipment and furniture; polishing metal fixtures; providing supplies and minor maintenance; and cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms. Specific tasks include spot cleaning walls, doors, and areas around light switches, replacing trash liners, sanitizing restrooms with hospital-grade germicide, refilling dispensers, and buffing floors.
Requirements
- Must be able to pass a standard background check and drug screen to be cleared to work in a VA Medical Facility
- Functions well around patients, staff and visitors in a clinical setting
- Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
- Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
- Knowledge of safe disposal of chemicals
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness
- Very good physical condition and strength
Nice To Haves
- Military veteran preferred
- High school diploma is preferred but not required
