About The Position

As a fully integrated, self-funded non-profit with a social mission to train, employ, and serve persons with disabilities and our community, we are seeking an experienced Janitor to join our team due to recent growth. The ideal candidate will maintain the premises of the office buildings and other areas of the plant in clean and orderly condition.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, and communicate and/or follow written and verbal instructions in English.
Ability to communicate in English through voice, or American Sign Language or adaptive technology.
High school education and one (1) year relevant experience and / or training in janitorial.
Experience in safe handling / cleaning of bloodborne pathogens.
US Person status as defined by ITAR regulations.

Responsibilities

Cleans and maintains the offices, shop, restrooms, and lunch areas throughout the facilities.
Sweeps, mops, vacuums, polishes, and maintains floors.
Washes walls, windows, door panels, and sills on an as-needed basis.
Empties wastebaskets, garbage containers, and recycling throughout the plant facility.
Follows procedures for adding material to the waste water treatment system.
Transports trash and waste to the disposal area.
Replenishes bathroom supplies and cleans and thoroughly sanitizes bathrooms and eating areas.
Dumps smoking receptacles.
Keeps the outside of the building and parking lot clean.
Maintains and reports inventory of cleaning supplies.
