About The Position

EAH Housing is hiring a full-time Janitor for Kukui Tower, a 380-unit family affordable housing community in Honolulu, Hawaii. The property is HUD and Tax Credit financed. The Janitor/Groundskeeper maintains indoor and outdoor areas, performs routine property checks to ensure the property is clean and well maintained, and assists the Maintenance Technician with repairs and common-area cleaning as needed. The position requires light maintenance experience and basic computer skills for training. Candidates should have at least one year of related janitorial or grounds experience, preferably in an apartment community setting. The salary range is $18.05–$25.65 per hour. The typical hiring range for new employees is $18.05–$21.85 per hour, depending on experience. Offers also take into consideration the final candidate’s experience and the current salary level of EAH employees in similar roles. Employment is contingent on satisfactory completion of required background checks and drug testing. EAH verifies education and employment history; certain roles may also require fingerprinting. Candidates who receive a conditional offer must submit to drug testing within 72 hours of accepting the offer. EAH does not test for marijuana/cannabis.

Requirements

At least 1 year of related janitorial or grounds experience.
Light maintenance experience.
Basic computer skills for training.

Responsibilities

Maintain property areas both indoors and outdoors.
Conduct routine property checks to ensure areas are clean and well maintained.
Assist the Maintenance Technician with repairs and common-area cleaning as needed.
Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum common areas.
Empty common-area trash.
Maintain parking areas.
Sweep and blow landings, and power wash as needed.
