About The Position

Under direct supervision, the Janitor performs routine cleaning and maintenance duties in an assigned area of a commercial building, office, or manufacturing setting to help maintain health, safety, and environmental standards. The role regularly involves cleaning and disinfecting as assigned by the client, including mopping, sweeping, dusting, laundry, and other cleaning duties. The position is located in Lemont, Illinois. The scheduled shift is 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at $20.00 per hour. The role is represented by SEIU Local 1.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of cleaning products, including chemicals, supplies, and methods used in office cleaning.
Must be a U.S. citizen and have a REAL ID.
Must speak and be fluent in English.
Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work with changing priorities.
Ability to deal effectively with diverse individuals at all organizational levels.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to understand safety requirements and cautions.
Ability to perform the physical labor necessary for the role.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of previous janitorial experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform floor care, including vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, and spot-cleaning carpets in office areas and the non-production employee lounge.
Dust and disinfect equipment, furniture, fixtures, and other items.
Remove trash from office areas and the non-production employee lounge.
Clean and sanitize restrooms daily.
Clean windows in conference rooms and management offices.
Stock supplies throughout the office.
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
