About The Position

The Janitor cleans and maintains floors, walls, windows, furniture, fixtures, restrooms, and shared spaces to keep the workplace clean, hygienic, and presentable. The role includes collecting and disposing of trash and recycling, replenishing restroom supplies, and maintaining cleaning equipment and supply inventory. The Janitor also reports maintenance issues and follows safety procedures for protective equipment, cleaning chemicals, and hazardous materials. Additional duties may include deep-cleaning carpets, upholstery, or windows and assisting with post-construction cleanup or event setup and takedown.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and wipe down floors, walls, windows, furniture, and fixtures.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling, empty waste bins, and replace liners.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and countertops, and replenish supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
• Clean and organize common areas such as lobbies, hallways, and break rooms; remove clutter and keep these spaces presentable.
• Properly use and maintain cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, mops, brooms, and buffers.
• Track cleaning-supply inventory and request restocking as needed.
• Report broken fixtures, leaks, malfunctions, and other maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow safety procedures, including using protective equipment, handling cleaning chemicals safely, and storing and disposing of hazardous materials properly.
• Perform additional cleaning tasks as needed, including deep-cleaning carpets, upholstery, or windows, post-construction cleanup, and event setup and takedown.
