About The Position

The Janitor cleans and maintains floors, walls, windows, furniture, fixtures, restrooms, lobbies, hallways, and break rooms to keep facilities clean, hygienic, organized, and presentable. The role includes collecting and disposing of trash and recycling, replenishing restroom supplies, maintaining cleaning equipment, monitoring cleaning-supply inventory, and reporting maintenance issues. The Janitor follows safety procedures for protective equipment and the safe handling, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials. Additional duties may include deep-cleaning carpets, upholstery, or windows and assisting with post-construction cleanup or event setup and takedown.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and wipe surfaces in areas including floors, walls, windows, furniture, and fixtures.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling, empty waste bins, and replace liners.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
• Clean and organize common areas, including lobbies, hallways, and break rooms, and remove clutter.
• Use and maintain cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, mops, brooms, and buffers.
• Track cleaning-supply inventory and request restocking as needed.
• Report broken fixtures, leaks, malfunctions, and other maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow safety procedures, use protective equipment, and safely handle, store, and dispose of cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials.
• Perform additional cleaning as needed, including deep cleaning carpets, upholstery, or windows, and assist with post-construction cleanup or event setup and takedown.
