About The Position

The Janitor maintains cleanliness and hygiene throughout airport facilities, including terminals, restrooms, offices, and public areas. The role includes sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing, waste disposal, and replenishing supplies to help provide a pleasant environment for passengers and staff. The Janitor uses cleaning chemicals and equipment effectively, follows health and safety regulations, reports maintenance issues, and keeps cleaning supplies stocked and maintained. This position requires flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
Communicate effectively in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
Have basic ability to follow safety protocols and cleaning instructions.
Know cleaning techniques and how to use cleaning equipment.
Be able to access and interpret information in print and electronically using devices such as iPads/tablets, computers, and mobile devices.
Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients in person and electronically.
Pass a background check and drug screen.
Be eligible to acquire applicable credentials and clearances, such as FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs, and U.S. Postal credentials.
Be flexible to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
Be able to meet the physical activity and working-condition requirements, including prolonged standing and walking, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, crawling, crouching, bending, stretching, squatting, kneeling, responding to spoken voices and audible alarms, and performing repetitive arm, wrist, hand, or finger motions.
Be able to work with exposure to moderate and sometimes high noise levels, biohazards, and chemicals.
Have the vision abilities required for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Prior experience in janitorial or cleaning services.

Responsibilities

Perform general cleaning duties across airport areas, including terminals, restrooms, and offices.
Operate cleaning machinery such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners.
Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in designated areas.
Clean and sanitize restrooms and ensure they are stocked with necessary supplies.
Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and windows.
Sweep and mop floors, walkways, and stairways, and maintain them.
Respond promptly to cleaning emergencies and spills.
Replenish cleaning and toiletry supplies in bathrooms and other facilities.
Follow safety and health regulations related to cleaning and chemical use.
Report maintenance issues or needed repairs.
Meet PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
