About The Position

Independent Management Services is hiring a Janitor to help maintain residential and office buildings and prepare apartments for occupancy. The role includes routine cleaning, building inspections, trash removal, minor repairs, and grounds work. The position is based at ACROSS THE PARK in Detroit, Michigan, and is full-time with a day shift. The Janitor reports directly to the Site Manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to prioritize projects and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated track record of reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Basic knowledge of commercial or small grounds equipment and supplies.
• Attention to detail and working knowledge of residential cleaning supplies and practices.
• Adherence to Federal Fair Housing Laws.

Responsibilities

• Participate in ongoing maintenance education and training.
• Conduct daily inspections of residential and office buildings.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
• Clean and stock restrooms.
• Collect and dispose of trash within the building and around the property.
• Perform minor repairs and grounds work, including weeding, planting, and watering flowers.
• Clean apartments to prepare them for occupancy.
• Ensure the building is locked and secure after office hours.
