About The Position

Janitorial Supervisors oversee and coordinate the work of janitorial staff to ensure a clean and orderly environment in buildings. They also handle administrative tasks and may conduct training for new staff.

Requirements

Proven work experience as a janitorial supervisor or similar role
Knowledge of cleaning procedures and machinery
Understanding of health and safety regulations
Excellent leadership and organizational skills
Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery

Responsibilities

Directing and supervising the cleaning, maintenance, and repair activities of janitorial staff
Inspecting work performed to ensure conformance to specifications and established standards
Training staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and the use of cleaning equipment and chemicals
Creating and maintaining cleaning schedules and routines
Ordering and maintaining an inventory of janitorial supplies and equipment
Handling and resolving complaints or issues regarding janitorial services
Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new janitorial staff
Conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback to janitorial staff
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Maintaining records of janitorial services performed and preparing reports for management
Assign tasks and duties to janitorial team members
Monitor team performance and provide guidance and feedback
Inspect premises regularly to ensure tasks are properly completed
Respond to any janitorial emergencies
Manage cleaning supplies stock, placing orders when necessary
Train team members in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
Address any complaints or issues in a timely and effective manner
Prepare and present performance reports
