About The Position

Austin Industrial is seeking a Janitor Journeyman to ensure buildings are tidy, clean, and well-maintained. The role includes cleaning floors and fixtures, disposing of waste, helping keep buildings free from indoor pests, maintaining cleaning supplies and equipment, securing premises after hours, and coordinating with contract cleaning services. Applicants must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; Austin Industrial cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.

The job involves substantial physical activity, including standing and walking for extended periods, working in confined spaces, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, and climbing up to 200 feet. Personal protective equipment must be worn; beards are not permitted. Requirements

• Previous janitorial or custodial experience in the industrial industry.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on foot for extended periods.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling and cleaning procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Any photo ID is acceptable.
• Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including wearing personal protective equipment; beards are not permitted.

Responsibilities

• Comply with company safety policies and procedures.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
• Wax furniture and clean fixtures.
• Dispose of trash and empty trash receptacles.
• Keep buildings free from indoor pests.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning agents and equipment.
• Ensure equipment and lights are switched off and premises are locked after hours.
• Collaborate with contract cleaning services.
• Maintain regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
