About The Position

The City of Pharr is hiring a full-time, onsite Jailer to supervise inmates and help maintain a safe, orderly facility. This general-duty role involves work of average difficulty and responsibilities performed during assigned shifts, including monitoring inmate behavior, maintaining security protocols, and supporting rehabilitation efforts. The Jailer is expected to uphold professionalism and provide courteous, customer-centric service while contributing to the safety and well-being of the community. The position offers a stated starting pay of $32,000.00 and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and paid time off.

Requirements

Considerable knowledge of approved practices and procedures within the workspace and facility.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
Ability to understand and execute moderately complex oral and written instructions.

Must pass a thorough criminal background check.
