About The Position

Performs a variety of complex administrative, supervisory and professional public safety assistance work in: planning, coordinating and directing the activities of the Detention Unit of the Sheriff's Office.

Requirements

Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license without record of suspension or revocation in any state.
No felony convictions and/or serious misdemeanor, disqualifying criminal histories.
Ability to obtain certification for CPR/First Aid.
Ability to meet Department's physical standards.
Must complete ICS 100, ICS 200 and ICS 700 within the first year of employment.
Must be able to be on call during days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, corrections, management, or related field and (6) years of related work experience.
Work experience must include (3) years of supervisory in this field.
Any combination of education, training and work experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and six years of progressively responsible work in law enforcement or police administration, including three years in a supervisory or lead capacity;
Six (6) years of experience in criminal justice work.
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be 21 years or older at the time of employment.
Must be able to communicate in English, both written and orally.
Must be of good moral character and of temperate and industrious habits.

Nice To Haves

two years of college level coursework in law enforcement, police administration or a related field is desirable.
